This is the English-language trailer for Square Enix’s upcoming action-RPG for the 3DS — Heroes of Ruin. As far as videogames go it looks pretty ordinary – yeah the 80,000 weapons and items sound cool and the 4-player co-op is just the right carrot to wean the Japanese off Monster Hunter. But really? Just being ok is about the best you can hope for on the 3DS right now.

There’s been some criticism over the frame rate of Heroes of Ruin but as the game won’t be released until next year, there’s every chance the developers will sort this out. Hell, if they’re lucky the 3DS will still be a viable platform by then.
